Michael Pollan is an author, journalist and activist. His book The Omnivore’s Dilemma explores the relation between our health and the foods we consume, as well as the many political and environmental connections that exist with our current food supply.
In this short video, Mr. Pollan explains how supermarkets display their goods and why they choose to do so. Our local markets are designed to keep you shopping longer by strategically placing certain goods in harder to find areas and therefore getting consumers to spend more. Look for yourself next time you’re out shopping.
