Dr. Eduardo Sanchez is Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. Previously, he was Director of the Institute for Health Policy at the University of Texas School of Public Health. Eduardo served as the Texas Commissioner of Health and throughout his tenure, he worked closely with Susan Combs, then-Texas Commissioner of Agriculture, to address childhood obesity in Texas. In 2005, the American Academy of Family Physicians presented Eduardo with the 2005 Public Health Award for his contributions to public health in Texas and beyond.
