This is a simple baked bean recipe cooked by Gramma Willi of Rough Times Cooking who shows you the basics, and leads you through the steps on your way to producing a healthy, protein and fiber-rich meal to accompany corn bread or many other foods. Beans are healthy and affordable!
Baked Beans
Ingredients:
I Pound Navy Beans (about 2 Cups)
1/2 tsp baking soda
4 tbsp Brown Sugar
1tbsp Ketchup
1/2 tsp Dry Mustard
1 tsp Prepared Mustard
1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 Cup Fancy Molasses
3 oz of Chorizo Sausage
Water: enough to leave 3 or 4 inches above the beans for soaking and then during cooking.
