Kids Cooking: Healthy Salsa Recipe

Fresh Salsa is one of our favorite snacks during the warmer months and this recipe is simple enough for kids to follow. Don’t forget that you can incorporate other veggies and fruit to give it a kick.┬áBe sure to check out this and other recipes courtesy of Human Body Detectives.

Ingredients:
3 cups of diced Roma tomatoes
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
1/2 cup diced white onion
salt to taste
the juice of one whole lime
1 seeded and chopped pepper (possibly jalapeno depending of your desired spice!)

Directions:
In a medium size bowl, add chopped tomatoes, cilantro and onion. Add a pinch of salt. Squeeze the juice of one whole lime. Stir in the pepper and mix well. Refrigerate for one hour.
ENJOY with some tortilla chips
