Preparing healthy and appetizing meals for children is a challenge. An easy kitchen tip is to substitute healthier ingredients, this way you can continue to serve your family’s favorites but with a health-conscious approach. Go ahead and give this kid-friendly recipe a go, you won’t be sorry, and best of all, you can feel good about serving this delicious meal to your loved ones. And in case you make too much: don’t worry, these turkey meatballs make excellent leftovers!

Recipe:
This is a simple enough recipe that is easy to prepare with kids. First, mix the turkey, breadcrumbs and egg in a large bowl and season with salt, pepper and spices. Herbes de provence, paprika or chopped garlic are some possible suggestions for spices. Add chopped parsley liberally and gradually pour water, then mix until you have achieved a thick paste-like consistency. Once you have formed meatballs by using the spoon method shown you are ready to fry them, also, feel free to ask your kids for help in this process. Use good frying oil and remember to finish your meatballs off in the oven. Kristin suggests frying evenly on all sides at medium heat for about 4 minutes and then baking at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
Ingredients:
1 pound of turkey
¼ cup bread crumbs
1 egg
salt and pepper to taste
water (gradually add water to mix until it resembles a thick paste)
a handful of chopped parsley (this can be altered according to preference)
seasoning of your choice (herbs and/or spices)
oil for frying

Good recipe! I made this last week and had plenty of yummy leftovers. I also like the addition of water because it makes the meatballs lighter and airy as opposed to dense
